In early March 2011, the Killian lab moved to Brockman Hall, Rice's new physics building. Click here to view the video" Moving Giant Laser Table Intact", a high point of the move.

Click here to take a virtual tour of Rice or here to listen to Prof. Killian talk about the research.

The Old Killian Lab (Dell Butcher 100)

Running our experiment on ultracold plasmas.

The green light produces the blue light via non-linear processes. The violet laser ionizes the neutral atoms in the chamber.

The chamber itself; the bright spot is light scattered from the atom cloud.

The blue light is split between the Zeeman slower and the MOT beams.
